New putters on the shelf
Golf isn’t all about hitting the longest drives and making the biggest noise; you’ve also got to be calm and humble on the greens to score well.

The Olympics are taking place in Paris this week, and while we love watching golf on tour, you’ve got to admire all the sheer athleticism on display at the Olympic Games.
In the 2020 Olympics held in Tokyo, Americans Xander Schauffele and Nelly Korda both claimed Olympic Gold Medals in the men’s and women’s Golf Individual events, and golf is of course returning to the Olympics for this year too.
The Men’s golf event takes place from the 1st – 4th of August, with the women’s golf taking place on the following weekend from the 7th – 10th August.
There are dozens of world-class golfers you could put forward to represent their countries in the Olympics, but there’s a specific qualifying process in place to allocate athletes.
As you can expect, qualifying to compete in golf at the Olympics is determined by ranking. The golf qualifying at this year’s Games is limited to 60 men’s and 60 women’s players as dictated by the Official World Golf Rankings.
The top 15 male and female players via World Rankings are eligible to compete, with up to a max of four players from a single country. After the top 15, the Olympic golf rankings consist of the top two eligible for each country following the world golf rankings.
As you can expect, there’s going to be some world-class talent competing for their countries. The American line up consists of Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Nelly Korda, and Lilia Vu. Representing Great Britain are Tommy Fleetwood, Matt Fitzpatrick, Charley Hull, and Georgia Hall.
Being one of the best players in the world and representing your country must be such a thrill! But no matter your ability, if you’re playing with substandard equipment, you’re not going to be reaching your potential.
Cobra makes exceptional golf clubs, and the ones we currently have in the pro shop are at the very cutting edge of modern putter tech. Without a solid golf putter in the bag, you could be falling short of scoring when it matters on the greens. Cobra has engineered the clubs in the KING 3D Printed range to give you the most out of your short game and have you feeling on top of the world.
As the name hints at, the KING 3D Printed putters feature a lightweight 3D-printed cartridge that optimises weight distribution within the clubhead. The insert is also constructed using Cobra’s Descending Loft Technology. This essentially means that the face descends by 1˚ increments with the very top being 4˚ and the very bottom being just 1˚. This unique design ensures you’re contacting the ball with an optimal launch on every stroke.
The clubhead is also incredibly stable when you’re striking through the ball, offering an exceptional degree of MOI to ensure your putts are always totally accurate. The KING 3D Printed range also offers customisable sole weighting, so you’ll be able to find your ideal stroke weight in no time.
Another fantastic putter offering from Cobra is the Vintage series. This club features a lot of similar tech as is found in the KING 3D Printed range, but with a softer PEBAX elastomer face insert within the clubhead. This insert provides a remarkably soft feel on impact, making this an excellent putter choice for players that are looking for as much forgiveness in their short game as possible.
Cobra makes exceptional golf putters, and we’re sure to have one in the pro shop just right for your golf game. If you’re thinking of adding a new putter to the bag but don’t know where to start, we’d be happy to offer you our expert advice.
